National Day Reception in celebration of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan (20 March 2024)

    


    On 20 March 2024, Ambassador Akamatsu hosted the National Day Reception in celebration of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
 
    Approximately 200 people, including the President of the Council of ICAO, Secretary General of ICAO, ICAO members, Secretariat staffs, and aviation stakeholders attended the reception.
 
    Mr. Sciacchitano, the President of the Council of ICAO, delivered a congratulatory address, and Ambassador Akamatsu as well as Mr. Toshiyuki Onuma, Senior Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, delivered opening remarks.
 
    During the reception, Japanese food and sake were served, ikebana arrangements were displayed, and a Japan PR video was shown to introduce Japanese culture and attractiveness.
