2020 National Day Reception (February 21, 2020)

The National Day Reception in honor of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, co-organized with the Consulate General of Japan in Montreal, was held at the ICAO Headquarters on Friday February 21, 2020.
Among the guests in attendance, speeches were provided by the Secretary General of ICAO, Dr. Fang Liu, the representatives of the Government of Quebec, and the City of Montreal were followed by salutations from the Canadian Olympic Committee, as well as warm greetings from Canadian athletes.
Permanent Representatives to ICAO, Quebec Government Representatives Ms. Caroline Proulx, Minister of Tourism, Mr. Eric Girard, Minister of Finance, and City of Montreal Representatives Ms. Cathy Wong, President of the Municipal Council, and Mr. Sterling Downey, Deputy Mayor were among approximately 400 guests present that evening.
During the reception, resident diplomatic chefs from the Consulate and the Delegation of Japan gave sushi demonstrations, and Japanese sake tasting stations and a Tokyo Olympics kiosk were provided to the guests. In addition, kiosks represented by Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Air Canada drew much attention from guests.
